Laurie’s vision and inspiration comes from exposure to a wide variety of projects that created beautiful, relaxing, comfortable living environments for clients throughout the United States.
During the late 1970s and early ‘80s, Laurie worked as an intern with renowned Beverly Hills designer, Laura Mako. Laurie’s earliest projects involved working directly with celebrities and politicians in southern California. It was during this time that she gained a solid foundation in the basics of interior design concepts, and she fine-tuned her skills in the use of color, lighting elements, high-quality materials, space maximization, visualization techniques, and flow of the house. Examples of her early successful design projects include:
Transforming a 1,500 square-foot guest house into a warm, cozy, welcoming retreat for the client and his guests.
Designing interiors for a former U.S. President’s Palm Springs home.
Completely remodeling a popular entertainer’s Palm Springs home, a 10,000 square-foot estate.
Collaborating with contractors, architects, structural engineers, and trades crews to remodel Andy Williams’ entire home in southern California.
